Taliesen "Taz" Burrows

Taliesen “Taz” Burrows is an attorney and Operating Manager at Birkholz Law, representing clients in Mankato, St. James and communities throughout Southern Minnesota. His practice focuses on estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate, civil litigation, business law, landlord-tenant matters and municipal law.

Originally from Wisconsin, Taliesen has made Southern Minnesota his home and professional base. He graduated from Mankato East High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts from Minnesota State University, Mankato and received his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2016. His academic background and professional training provide a strong foundation for handling legally and factually complex matters with clarity and precision.

Since joining Birkholz Law in 2018, Taliesen has developed a practice centered on real estate transactions and disputes, probate and estate administration and civil litigation involving property and business interests. He regularly assists clients with title issues, contracts for deed, estate and trust matters involving real property and disputes that require both technical legal knowledge and practical problem-solving.

Taliesen also has substantial experience in municipal law, advising cities and public entities on governance matters, statutory compliance, risk management and related legal issues. His municipal work reflects a balanced approach that considers legal requirements, practical operations and long-term public interest.

In addition to his legal practice, Taliesen serves in leadership roles within the firm and the broader community. He is a Director on the Board of Directors for First National Bank at St. James and a Director for the nonprofit corporation B the Light. Within Birkholz Law, he serves as Operating Manager, contributing to firm operations, strategic planning and systems designed to improve efficiency and client service.

Taliesen’s professional accomplishments have been recognized by his peers. He was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2026, an honor awarded to a limited percentage of attorneys in Minnesota.

Outside of work, Taliesen has been married for over a decade and is the father of one daughter. He enjoys traveling with his family, reading history, science fiction and fantasy and spending time playing both video and board games with friends and family. He values community involvement and long-term relationships and brings that perspective to how he serves his clients.
